Saturday 13 March Chinese Brush Painting Workshop.  10 am to 5 pm.
Christine Clark-Lowes invites you to unleash your artistic talent (even if you don’t think you’ve got one!) by trying Chinese Brush Painting. Using watercolour paints and specially made brushes, it can take just a few strokes to produce a picture to be proud of.
The workshop will take place in the Unitarian Church Hall in New Road, Brighton and will consist of demonstrations and plenty of painting time. The fee is £30 per person, which includes the use of basic materials on the day, but bring a water jar and, if you have one, a mixing pallet. There will be an hour-long lunch break, so bring your own sandwiches or go to one of the numerous cafes/restaurants nearby. Please do not delay in booking for this workshop, as there is likely to be considerable demand and places are limited to 10.

REGULAR CLASSES

Invitation to Learn: Programme of 40 Classes on ‘Matters of Choice’ run by Francis Clark-Lowes - September 2009 – July 2010. Classes will run on Tuesday mornings (10.30 to 12.30) in the North Laine and on Thursday evenings (7.30 to 9.30) at the Unitarian Church Hall, New Road. New students should first enrol as indicated below. The drop-in fee is £6 per class. After the first two introductory classes (and excluding the last two concluding ones), book and pay for six consecutive classes in advance for £30. Refreshments will be available.

These discussion classes will consider the pros and cons for a wide range of human choices, divided into six different categories of polarity. Underlying them all are the questions: ‘How should we be?’ and ‘What should we do?’ Similar discussion classes have been run over the past three years on Riddles of Life (looking at 'isms'), The Art of Rhetoric (looking at its power), and People and Power. Attendance has been good and feedback very positive.
